Do you ever feel like the hard work is fruitless? That somehow by doing all the courses, all the leadership programs, deliver well on projects, you don’t feel like you’ve come that far. Either you don’t advance or you do but then find the goalpost has constantly shifted. You never get that sense of achievement, fulfillment, or feeling that you thought success would give you. I discovered after years of research my breakthrough why I found it so hard, the 3 dimensions critical to successful Personal Growth and that what I want to share with you today.

Perhaps you reflect on decisions and wonder how did I end up here, this doesn’t feel like it should. Perhaps you feel stuck, things are generally predictable and you’re only really reacting to changes around you.

You know that you have a lot more potential, you have this burning desire in the pit of your stomach that there is more, you have more potential, to wake up motivated, feel more connected to your professional work & personal life, and contribute at a higher level coming home fulfilled.

Often we’ve heard the advice, but we only hear it when we are ready to. There can be a trigger, many of us view it as a midlife crisis, for some, it’s having children, for others it’s a new promotion or stressful situation that makes you sit up and say this is NOT my life’s work.

The 3D Personal Growth Framework

Personal Growth

The 3D Personal Growth Framework was born from years of research, understanding why the top performers and successful people avoided the ‘failure pit’ many of us fall into, the health issues that come with working so hard, and the power to keep going in the face of adversity.

The world has changed and many old management teachings simply don’t serve us as new generation professionals. The way we are more consciously aware of the micro & macro world can drive the best of us to become role models and have a positive impact on the new world of work.

I discovered with practically every area of growth there are 3 critical dimensions to success. The 3D Framework takes a holistic approach to achieve your goals because it takes more than merely replicating tactical steps of others. Outwardly it may appear you are doing everything right but the reality is that many people sacrifice relationships, damage their health, and don’t get the foundations needed to build a sustainable and fulfilling career. You tell yourself you tried everything others did… yet here you are.

Some people suffer burnout well before, others spend years feeling stuck full of regret, and too many people (in fact some studies say 83%) are disconnected from the work they do. Becoming eventually disillusioned by inequality and poor management practice.

I believe that everyone can build a career and life they love, doing work they enjoy, feeling connected to the work, the people, having the impact, feeling abundant, and always growing better every day. These are key factors in feeling fulfilled. I also know that fulfillment in your professional life makes you a better, happier person at home.

Clarity

The difference between wavering in uncertainty alone in the dark and the successful 2% of high performers is Clarity. This can be the Goal, the Task, the Direction or the Strategy.

Think about a time when you last had complete clarity, how you were able to focus on the mission. Often we lose sight of this, or fail to think about it frequently that we lose our way.

Understanding that personal growth in learning to influence others can increase your impact, is one example of getting clarity on the key skills to develop and having a directed learning plan to support your goals.

You see you can do the same as eveyone else, but if you believe it won’t happen for you , it won’t – its that foot on the break intrenal block. Then when times get tough, because this is a long road where;s the motivation & energy – you to need generate it even then.

Support

Support comes in many forms, the people, environment and resources.

If we think of examples of successful people we often make excuses that they had incredible support. For example, Sandra Speilburg COO of Facebook, famously known for having a great sponsor in her education, top colleges, supportive parents, living and working in the right places at the right time. This makes us feel that it’s not possible when we don’t have the same level of support.

Yet on the flip side, we all know the many examples of people who have overcome adversity, had underprivileged roots, and took risks with perseverance to make it happen. Look at Oprah Winfrey arguably the most famous female on the planet, started with barely any education, very little support, or clothes to wear. Or JK Rowling who on benefit support for 7 years, was rejected and given no help, now holds one of the most successful authors of all time.

Support for personal growth can be anything from an accountability partner, a coach, a mentor, good teachers, family, friends, finances, time, space to work, grow & create.

Remember the biggest impact comes from the 5 people you surround yourself with most

Mindset

You see when you are doing and not seeing or expecting results you circle of influence is so small. No one is watching, you’re so internally focussed, you’re taking an action with what you think is 100% effort, but the reality is it’s I tried so I can say I did, but you didn’t go all the way.

That’s why mindset is important. If you feel there is not enough to go aropund, the oprtunities aren’t there, you can’t learn, grow, do it… then you won’t.

The reality is that It’s not possible to build a life and fulfilling career you love from a position of negativity, regret and stress.

Remember your THOUGHTS affect your BELIEFS which affect your ACTIONS and your RESULTS.

Understanding and retraining your brain means you can start to progress forward from a position of strength. Dr Shannon Irvine describes the metaphor – do you feel like your foot is in the gas and the break at the same time.

Then you probably have some limiting beliefs holding you back.

Whether you believe you can or believe you can’t you are probably right
