This culture shift started before the pandemic and has since been accelerated as more professionals demand diversity and inclusion, and embrace learning. Competence and empathy are valued highest of all traits. With a shift from Victim to Role Model mindset.
I’ve previously talked about how I consider anyone to have the capacity to be defined a leader. In this episode, many of my listeners associate themselves with some if not all of these. This revolution will improve work life balance and fulfillment for all professionals.

We are also seeing the shift in role model behaviour as regardless of title, we realize the significance of each one of us. So when I say Everyone is a Leader, I mean you too! Are you ready to step up?
Conscious of their Impact on the World
The New Generation is conscious leaders, aware of the micro impact, which can include their team, their product and its delivery. Many are now holding an expectation that organizations tackle diversity & inclusion. Then there is the context of the wider world. The impact our work has on the environment, the realization that commuting pollutes, that some product providers are no longer serving, exploitation, and more.
Self Awareness & Emotional Intelligence
The New Generation is self-aware and invests in personal development, including emotional intelligence. Serving as Empathetic leaders, something which Simon Sinek explores more from us.
Authentic Role Model
They are authentic, show integrity, and role model the way. When we move from Victim to Role Model, we begin to demand more from ourselves, living better every day.
The New Generation Leader has a positive impact through their work and message. Staying Visible and developing influence is essential. Because you need to persuade a team member, a decision-maker to support your idea or a client to buy from you. Without it your mission will never be fulfilled.

Always Learning
One of the most significant characteristics of a New Generation Leader can be seen by looking at Elon Musk or Sarah Blakely among others. These people are NOT saying, ‘I have all the answers’. In fact, part of this journey is having the persistence & determination to carry on anyway. To learn, from those we lead, the experts and imperfect action.
